Article Processing Charges

The Article Publishing Charge for International Journal of Arts and Humanities is $55 (USD).  This covers the costs of the peer-review process, copyediting, typesetting, publication on our website, marketing, and indexing in major databases. The International Journal of Arts and Humanities operates independently and does not rely on funding from institutions or governments. Instead, the journal is supported by fees paid by authors. Because the journal is open access, readers can freely access and distribute any published article without any payment required. To ensure the integrity of peer review, our team of editors and reviewers receive no information about payments at any stage.

How and when to pay

Once your article is accepted after peer review, the billing party will receive an invoice which outlines the Article Publishing Charge (APC) that was pledged on submission, the payment terms and how to pay. Depending on your location, these charges may be subject to local taxes.

Waivers and discount policy

Researchers based in less economically developed countries, as categorized by the World Bank, are able to apply for waivers and discounts to allow them to publish in this journal. Discretionary APC waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the point of submission; requests made during the review process or after acceptance will not be considered. To ensure the integrity of peer review, our team of editors and reviewers receive no information about payments at any stage.

Persons with disabilities will be given a full publication fee waiver upon submitting proof of their disability. This is to ensure that they have equal access to information and to remove any barriers they might face in accessing knowledge and information. This waiver is a way to provide support and inclusivity for individuals with disabilities. The waiver also ensures they have equal access to information and removes any barriers they might face in accessing knowledge and information.

Refund Policy

Refunds for Article Processing Charges (APCs) are available in accordance with the journal's refund policy. If the online version of the manuscript has not been published, a full refund can be requested. However, once the online version of the manuscript has been published, no refund will be provided.

Withdrawal Policy

During the review process, the author has the right to withdraw their article. However, once the article has been processed for publication, it cannot be withdrawn. There is no fee associated with the withdrawal of an article.

Membership schemes

Your institution may be part of the Bluemark Publishers pre-payment membership scheme, which also covers open access publications. In case your institution is part of the scheme, then the full cost of Open Access publishing may already be covered.

If your institution is not part of the pre-payment scheme, don’t worry! Many institutions have allocated funds to support the cost of Open Access publishing for their staff and most funding bodies will allow authors to use part of their research grant to cover the cost of publishing charges. All authors considering open access publishing should talk to their librarian and faculty about the availability of support.
