This study examines the long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on social and economic inequalities in a post-pandemic society. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on societies around the world, affecting various aspects of life, including health, employment, education, and social interactions. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study combines quantitative analysis of large-scale data sets with qualitative interviews and surveys to understand the social and economic consequences of the pandemic on different population groups across the globe. The study focuses on the post-pandemic period to capture the lasting effects and potential residual inequalities caused by the pandemic. The findings suggest that the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing social and economic inequalities, leading to increased disparities in various dimensions. Socioeconomically disadvantaged groups, such as low-income individuals, racial and ethnic minorities, and women, have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic. They have experienced higher rates of infection and mortality, higher job losses, and reduced access to healthcare and educational resources. The study also reveals that the pandemic has widened the digital divide, with individuals from low-income backgrounds having limited access to technology and internet connectivity, further hindering their ability to engage in remote work, online education, and telehealth services. This digital divide has perpetuated existing inequalities and hindered social mobility. In terms of long-term economic consequences, the study finds that the pandemic has led to a greater concentration of wealth and power among large corporations and the wealthiest individuals. Small businesses and workers in vulnerable industries have faced significant challenges and closures, resulting in job losses and reduced economic opportunities. This study contributes to our understanding of the long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on social and economic inequalities. It provides insights that can inform policy responses and help build a more equitable and resilient post-pandemic society.
