This study investigates the effectiveness of ChatGPT-an AI chatbot-from the viewpoint of Islamic University students in Kushtia, Bangladesh. It studies how ChatGPT impacts their academic performance, engagement, and learning outcomes. A mixed-method approach was employed; surveys were conducted and results analyzed using SPSS 25 and MS Excel 2019. The findings indicate that ChatGPT greatly improves academic results since the students were highly satisfied with it in terms of accuracy, ease of use, and enhancement in critical thinking. The study highlights the future possibilities that it may possess with respect to research work by the students and their concentration on study sessions. Basically, certain issues relating to academic integrity and ethical concerns have also been discussed. This research fills that gap by looking at some perceptions and uses of AI tools like ChatGPT in higher studies, especially in the context of Islamic universities in Bangladesh.
